Effective 10/01/2008 all students 15 years and older can begin the 30 hour in-class portion of the Maryland State Driver Education Program. Students who have passed the MVA Learner's Permit Test and possess a Maryland Learner's Permit can begin the 6-hours of behind-the-wheel training included in the Driver's Education Program. Additional behind the wheel driving lessons can also be setup as well as the road test for the drivers license a the MVA. This new regulation applies to all current and future students. The Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration recommends that students start Driver Education at age 15 or older.
